Free Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) workshops
This November, we were proud to run a free Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) workshop aimed at supporting both our team and the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The goal of the workshop was to equip participants with the skills to recognise and respond to mental health issues, creating a more supportive environment for individuals facing mental health challenges.
Held at the welcoming Drummond Street Services – Queerspace, the workshop covered key topics such as understanding what mental health first aid is, recognising signs of distress, and providing initial support until professional help can be accessed.
A huge thank you to Drummond Street Services – Queerspace for generously donating the space, and to Pride Foundation Australia for awarding us the grant that made this workshop possible. Their support allowed us to offer this important resource for free and deliver it much sooner than we’d hoped.
We’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success. A special shout-out to Steph and the team at Q Psychology for facilitating the workshop and sharing their expertise – we couldn’t have done it without you!
